Old Town Walk with Old Hastings Preservation Society2017

All at 2.30pm and start at the TOP of the West Hill Lift and proceed gently downhill, taking about 90 minutes. Join us for a fascinating tour of Hastings Old Town, the premier ancient Cinque Port, with its wealth of medieval, Tudor and later historic buildings and twittens and cat-creeps. It is a town steeped in history, going back to long before 1066 and forward beyond its front-line position in the Second World War. Find out why famous artists, authors and celebrities of their day flocked to the town. It has been said that there are more paintings of Hastings than of any other English resort! Hastings also attracted famous authors such as Byron, Keats, the Rossettis, Dickens, Lewis Carroll and Catherine Cookson. Although there is no charge for these walks, OHPS welcomes donations to the charity. For more information and to book a walks for a group of adults email ohpswalks@gmail.com or phone 01424 461446.
