VIRTUAL

This is a virtual event

We will be online all day with videos and photos from past carnivals and a tour on happy Harold It won’t be carnival as we know it but it will be fun.

from the facebook page: As you may be aware, the Hastings Old Town Carnival Association committee have decided that due to the ongoing issues associated with Covid-19, it’s not viable for the usual events to go ahead this year. As you can appreciate, it wasn’t a decision that was taken lightly. However, all is not lost, as this year, many events will be virtual!
This event will take place via Zoom, please check back for more details

The virtual carnival will take place on Saturday 8th August and this year’s carnival theme is ‘Stories for Children’.

We are hoping that you will want to get involved in this year’s event, albeit in a different way than usual. Please see below, some ideas and options for you to consider:
  • Send us a video of a previously filmed performance. This doesn’t have to be footage of a carnival performance, but a performance that highlights what you do best. The video can be shared via our live link on carnival day.
  • Make a short video – your video can tell us (and the public) about your group history, what you do and your group achievements. Where appropriate, your video can also be used as a promotional tool if you are looking to add to your group in the future.
  • Make a short video performance, group participants can dress as their favourite book character or you can decide on a favourite story as a group.
  • Live stream a performance on the day. This doesn’t mean you have to gather as a group, as individuals can access the live stream separately, but you will be seen together as a collective on screen.
  • If you would like to get involved in some way (it could be one or more of the above options), please get in contact via the facebook page so that we can add your group to our growing list of virtual participants. Further information will be shared as soon!
