A procession of floats, walkers, dancers, musicians and more!
The theme of this year’s Carnival is KINGS AND QUEENS which, in the case of our own little island we can look back on good ones and bad ones which gives everybody plenty of scope and thinking outside the box - Biblical Kings and Queens, speed, jazz, swing, drag, comedy, ships, the animal kingdom, lastly not to forget our friend the Herring, King of the sea ... imagination can run riot.
Please do not throw coins (or anything else!) at the procession – we do not want any injuries or damage to vehicles, but please throw as much money as you like at the collecting boxes.
Hastings Carnival is a glass free event, please do not bring glass bottles to the street.
Judging takes place during the parade, where you will be judged not only on your costumes and/or float but on how you entertain and interact with the crowd.
