Hastings Net Shops Museum 2022 - Hastings Old Town Carnival Week

Hastings Net Shops Museum2022

The Hastings net shops have been upgraded to grade II* listed buildings because of their architectural uniqueness. Since the 1980s, local historian Steve Peak has played a leading role in saving net shops and, having owned this one, which dates from 1835 and is preserved as a museum, he has generously donated it to the Fishermen’s Museum. Inside is a large collection of original fishing and marine artefacts, many dating from pre-World War Two. The museum is not open very often, but today Steve invites you inside to catch a glimpse of life in the days of sail. Admission free (donations to OHPS). The net shop won't be open if it's raining!
