Hastings Net Shops Museum2023

Rock-a-Nore Road, opposite East Hill Lift The Hastings net shops have been upgraded to grade II* listed buildings because of their architectural uniqueness. Since the 1980s, local historian Steve Peak has played a leading role in saving them. He owned this one, dating from 1835 and now preserved as a museum and has generously donated it to the Fishermen’s Museum. Inside is a large collection of original fishing and marine artefacts, many dating from pre-World War Two. The museum is not open very often, but today Steve invites you inside to catch a glimpse of life in the days of sail (but not if it is raining!). Admission free (donations to OHPS).
