The Hastings net shops are grade II* listed buildings because of their architectural uniqueness. Since the 1980s, local historian Steve Peak has played a leading role in saving them. This one dates from 1835, which he owns and has preserved as a museum. He has generously donated it to the Fishermen’s Museum. Inside is a large collection of original fishing and marine artefacts, many dating from pre World War II. The museum is not open very often but today Steve invites you inside to catch a glimpse of life in the days of sail. Admission free (donations to OHPS) Not Open if raining.
